HELLmira: Local Hauntings, Mysteries, Spirits, and Ghost Sightings

★★★★★ 5/5
Elmira, New York, has a long, rich history that is both dark and glowing with the spirits of yesteryear. From being a stop on the Underground Railroad to housing Camp Rathbun – a Union Army barracks turned Civil War Prison Camp – to harboring the various spirits of those lives taken involuntarily and those who took their own lives, Elmira and her surrounding cities offer more than a couple mysterious and haunting locations to explore.
Spirits in any locale will linger, emit energy for long periods of time before making themselves known. Sometimes, they do these things out of habit, an unwillingness to admit their current status of mortality. Other times, they can be scary, simply trying to send a message or complete some unfinished business, but with a bit of patience and heart, there is usually a reason to be found.
So, come visit Elmira and share your adventures with the spirits of those who are among us and the spirits of those who once were.

Good Read. Helpful advice for all ages. I would recommend this book for familes with teenagers, and suggest they then make it a point to discuss what they read. Solid guidance that might help when making decisions so as to avoid the issues that plague our youth. However, as an older adult I also noted several solid points to ponder when reflecting on life. Good for all.
Inner Peace is a helpful read that is particularly relevant in the digital age, where the overwhelming presence of social media can lead many people to feel lost. The book serves as a gentle reminder to step back and reassess what truly matters in your personal journey toward fulfillment and success.
The strength of this book lies in its reflection questions that prompt you to introspect and set meaningful priorities and goals. I did find it a bit light in terms of fully addressing the journey to inner peace but it did provide me with a good start in moving towards more fulfillment, away from the shackles of FOMO and the pursuit of digital validation to focus more on my personal values and goals.
For millennia, the wise have sought and provided advice on achieving inner peace. But what these authors of old could not have imagined was the creation of the Internet, social media, and the rise of “e-inner turmoil.”
Fannelli addresses the modern-day dilemma of fear of missing out (FOMO) and even cyber bullying with some practical advice. Refreshingly, she doesn’t approach these conventional challenges from a victim hood mentality–although she concedes, that can happen. Rather, she provides sage counsel on taking charge of one’s life and personal viewpoint to achieve your goals despite life’s challenges.
Highly recommended.
